Sweet Peas Growing in Vines

Not so long ago my Mother needed a sympathy card, so we got PTI's With Sympathy out, and started working with it. I, of course, needed baby cards, not sympathy cards, so here is what my cards looked like, lol!!

Those are older SU felt flowers with little gold half pearls in the center. The sweet pea baby is a Lockhart stamp.

Another Sweet Pea

I had great plans of showing 4 cards today, lol. but Blogger is being a Booger- and says my photos can't load... well, I guess I won't complain about a free service, lol!

So here is a sweet little pea, one of my favorite images from Lockhart Stamps; I use it a lot! Just colored with Copics, layer on a New Leaf scalloped oval, place on some pea looking paper, tie a retired SU ribbon that matches New Leaf along the edge, add a PTI pea green button... and well... there you have it!

A new Baby in the house!

Not that kind of baby, lol... a new camera!! I have been stunned by how much better the DD's photos of baby Wes are than mine, even when we are standing side by side. I thought and thought, and chewed my nails, and did moral soul searching... why buy another camera when I have a pretty good one? I kept coming back to the photos of my cards, and not being happy with the photos I take- then this week at Best Buy was the camera, bag and telephoto lens all for $300.00 less than what they paid. I thought and thought some more, then drove myself over there at 8 pm and bought a Rebel XS with 2 lenes (one telephoto), a camera bag, and a clear filter to protect the lens. And a memory card. I should have gotten another filter to put on the telephoto, and will do that as soon as I stop gasping for air.

I got back to the house at 10 pm, and this is the first and only photo I have taken so far- lol, it might not seem that much better, but I know it was taken practically in the dark, and I did no color editing at all. Sigh- I am so hopeful that if I don't have to edit as much, I might post more. You think??

Oh yes, that's SU kraft as the base, since I have run out of PTI's. The new Dotty Biscotti paper of course, with Aqua Mist as a base layer, but the central image has 3 layers, the image, Aqua Mist, then Hawaiian Shores as the scalloped layer. It just needed a shot of bolder color. Snips and Snails is a Lockhart stamp; I colored it with 2 Copics. Those little pearly things are from one of the cheap $1.00 Recollections sets at Michael's.

I spent a lot of money on a camera, and it isn't going to feed us or keep us warm, and it certainly isn't going to save any lives. But so far, I love it!

Funky Carriages

I am a baby card junkie, of course. I'll buy anything I see that I think will work on a baby card. I like 12 x 12 paper since if I'm clever I can get 6 cards from one sheet! But, I confess, I am not a fan of 'off' colors. There seems to be a lot of mauve, lime, and odd purple baby papers out there at the moment! I made two of these, and put the paper back in the file for another day~

Paper is Heidi Grace Shimmer Paper, Baby Buggies. I thought the Lockhart carriage looked similar to the funky carriages on the paper, even though they faced opposite ways, lol! The paper colors are weird, so I went to my 12 x 12 paper stash and found cs that is reasonably close. The green is Papertrey's Spring Moss; the blanket is colored in Prisma marker Limepeel which matches Spring Moss rather well! Sentiment is from SU. The girl card has cute little flowers, and the boy card has some Dew Drops. Those little flowers match Papertrey's Raspberry Fizz, and are from Savvy Stamps. They also make blue flowers that match Spring Rain (PTI)or Bashful Blue (SU) well, too! I used some clear Stickles on the sentiment and the carriages as well.

Sadly, I am still not well- although better!- and am off to the Dr. again today... wish me luck at getting better!

Losing My mind!

I am considered an expert in some things. I can read medical and nursing journals and remember who said what when. I have written and published journal articles that get quoted in other peoples articles. I have gone places and done things... and can remember them. Hold that thought.

One of my New Year's resolutions was -is- to keep my computers in good working order; to delete files when I am done with them, do updates, and, you know, do the compressions and defragment when my computers cry at me to do so.

In cleaning up my documents today I came across this photo. I have no memory of making this card, nor of the stamp that I used. I wondered if maybe my DD had done it? I had to go search, and sure enough, there is the stamp: Lockhart Stamp Co. The sentiment is from SU. It looks to me that the yellow is PTI's Lemon Tart Twill. I'm guessing that the paper and double stitched ribbon is from SU. How did I color it? No clue.

The sad thing is that the photo is dated November 20. 3 months ago. That's it, I'm losing my mind!
