The Fix- and a Baby Boy card

I received some suggestions as to what to do to stack the PTI cubes so they wouldn't fall, and I thought this was the best; especially since it cost me nothing! I had the bag of Bazzill chips, and can easily cut them from cardboard when I run out. A bit of craft glue and here it is!

Yay for little cubes showing off their color to me just to my right on my table.

Here is a small Baby Boy card, only 3 x 4.5. Is that a 'Bar' measurement? It started as a pack of RSVP inserts I picked up off a sale table somewhere; a pack of small single layers and matching envies. I made a card from PTI's Stampers Select, and layered on a Martha Stewart print. The blue card was stamped with some flourishes from Inladinkado's Sketchy Flourishes in Versa Mark. The Onsie is SU By Ones and By Twos, colored in Copics by my DD which I then stole from her pile of discards. The sentiment is from Memory Box. Lol, since I didn't stamp and color the onsie, this card took all of 10 minutes to put together. One of those cards that takes longer to think about then to do-

Wait, I think that is always true of the cards I make!

Baby Boy Basket

No lie, the boy:girl ratio of births continues to be off, there are way more boys being born than girls. I really need to google around and see if it is a trend others are reporting! It means I struggle some days to get just boy cards made, lol!

The image is from Stamp of Excellence, a very sweet image that looks wonderful when you do it up vintage. this time, though, I did it up citrus! The paper is DCWV Citrus, and the little pom-pom ribbon is from Wrights. The layers are PTI's Lemon Tart and Enchanted Evening- very citrusy!

3 pretty easy baby boy cards here-All with PTI's Spring Rain put through the older Cuttlebug baby emboss and dies set. The 'Welcome Baby' die comes with the set. The 'happy' die is from PTI's new words dies. 'New Baby' is a PTI stamp as well. Welcome, Little Baby is from their Baby Button Bits set, it has the word 'bee' on the end, but I cut that off, lol. Just little bits of leftovers here and there... and a wee bit of glue put on those die cuts very carefully!!

Papertrey Quick Baby card!

Oh my Lordy, what happened to March? Someone stole it away!!

Actually, I have just been a bad blogger~ sorry about that! It's not that I haven't made any cards, lol, I just can't find the time to photograph and edit them!

So here's a little something! Papertrey shimmer blue paper, the tin type pattern from the Pretty Pastels paper pack, and the bear from the Baby Button Bits stamp set (with a little heart brad instead of a button!). I colored the bear with Prisma markers, but used a SU marker in Blush Blossom for his feeties and face; it's just a nice soft skin color, I think. The sentiment is also from the Baby Button Bits set; it really says Welcome, little baby bee; I just cut the 'bee' off of the stamp. I used one of the Nestability scallop squares to cut the layer behind the bear, the die worked better than a punch on the shimmer cardstock.

Baby Blue Elephant

Yes, I have been working hard at getting it all done, lol!! What are the words to the song? '...new jobs a hassle and the kids got the flu...' Well, no one has the flu, knock on wood, but the DD's broken leg has taken a little of my energies, lol!!!

I think the shower is close enough I can start showing some things for that soon!!

Here's a fun stamp from Amuse- I colored the elephant is Copics, then paper pieced the baby bag from Papertrey's Sweet Blush Bitty Dots paper. That's some of the Sweet Blush Swiss Dots satin ribbon, so lovely to tie into bows! The yellow is Barely Banana from SU, as is the 1/4 inch grosgrain.

It's definitely a girl card, but I may do it again as a boy this evening!

SPICE'ing Katies card!

During last month's Papertrey Blog Hop, Katie Rentz showed a perfect (to me) baby card. You can see it here. Wasn't that sweet? For me a perfect baby card is quick, few layers and embellies (to keep the cost low), and be made of things I have on the shelf, lol. Katie did me such a favor by showing that card!!

My version here combined the sentiments she used on the box as well, and I also stamped the bottom Spring Rain layer. It looked great at first, but that Spring Rain ink is pretty finicky, and faded away quickly. Still, in the hand you can see the stamped image, and it looks good.

But then just a day later, the Bitty Stars paper arrived, so I did it again~ even cuter the second time!

Cute Baby Boy

Quick and easy card using SU's Big on Spring, and all SU products- Cutie Pie paper, Bashful Blue and Old Olive cs, Bashful Blue DSP, Bashful Blue striped grosgrain, and a bit of highlight with the white pen. That's it!

Cards from Precious Scraps box!

Do you remember that I got a package from Precious Scraps last week? See my box of goodies here. Well, it's been weighing on me that I haven't made anything from those papers yet...but gee, much of it was pink and I need boy cards...! What's a girl to do?

Well, I think I did ok! I have made 3 boy cards so far; I'll show the other two over the weekend.

Card base is a white A-2. First layer is one of SU's old In Colors, Bayou Blue. Next layer up is a green print from Memory Box Sweetbay. Sweetbay is all beautiful baby boy blues, so it's funny I used the green first! The strip of animals is from Little Yellow Bicycle, baby safari girl. The brads in the upper corners are from the matching Brad Assortment. The little tag is from a Studio 112 pack, bought at my local dis-dis-discount store.

Isn't it amazing how well this stamp matches the safari animals?? The stamp is from Great Impressions, J92. If you click on it to make it bigger, you will see how well the images match!

A Star is Born

Can't believe I didn't post this when I made it. Was one of the quick ones when I was sick earlier this month. Can't possibly be original since I am not that clever, so I thank whoever had this idea first!

Set is Papertrey's Second Anniversary set, Everyday Classics. Inks are Papertrey's Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart and Plum Pudding (well, coulda been Lavender Moon?). Sentiment comes from Favor It Baby. Punched with SU's big and little star punches.

Gosh, I should go make a bunch more of these right now!

Bits and Pieces of Ocean Tides

Do you have bits and pieces sitting in a box or drawer just waiting to be made into something? I bet we all do~ and here's one that came together quickly the other day.

The Guidelines 1 Ocean Tides background layered on a piece of summer sunrise and with a strip of White twill came to me as a Thank You card from one of you~ who and why, I have no recollection- it was over a year ago, maybe 2?? I cut the card apart, and saved the layers!

The stork was a failed image over stamped with sentiment. The stork is from Anna Griffin/All Night Media, the sentiment is Penny Black. I think it is stamped in Palette's burnt Umber, when I first got that pad. I colored the basket with Ocean tides using a blending pen, the beak and legs are colored using one of SU's markers.

When I first did the image, I thought the sentiment didn't work, it is too close to his body. This week, when I had 2 hours to make 5 baby boy cards (wow, the ratio of boys to girls has changed significantly since the Iraq war, but that's another story!) and knowing they just pay for supplies, I think it looked fine!!

I layered it all on a plain Ocean Tides card, and used the satin white ribbon since it looked more formal than more twill.

Feeling Green!

Phew! I have been sick for 5 days now, and I refuse to be sick any more. Plus, I have to go to work Sunday and Monday night, and there is no way they will let me call in sick again. So! There you have it! That's all the good news. The bad news is that I am still feeling pretty bad... so I am hoping that creating my own myth of wellness will work by tomorrow night when I arrive at work!

I made this card the day I started to feel sick- I should have wondered! It uses Papertrey's Bitty Baby Basics and It's a Boy! from Hero Arts. SU's Dots N Dashes paper, plus their Green Galore and Glorious Green cs. I colored the carriage with Certainly Celery and going Gray markers, as well as Prisma's #13 Poppy Red and 20% Warm Gray. Buttons are from Earth Elements and Rich Regals. There is Stickles Fruit Punch all over the carriage, not sure if you get that in the photo.

It feels good to be back upstairs, lol, just wish I could breath!

Baby Bear!

How is it that best laid plans oft times go astray? I had plans of making at least 5 or 6 baby cards yesterday, I had all day... sigh.

This is one of my favorite stamps, from Inkadinkado. I've had it forever, but it sould still be out there. It says Fine Line classis, G1174 and 605 on the side. The brown paper is from PTI's Chocolate Remix collection. The chocolate cs is Papertrey, the blue is SU's Bashful Blue.Buttons and ribbon are from Michaels and/or Joanns. It is hard to tell, but I watercolored the butterflies in with a Bashful Blue watercolor crayon, and also did his ribbon. A little smidge of Pretty in Pink decorates his heart.

I love it when a quick card comes out so nice!!
