I think you'll perhaps need to enlarge the photo to see the background text and the embossing on the right edge.
The text paper is from the Chocolate Mix, of course. Spring Rain cs was put through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. The embossing along the right edge of the Chocolate paper was done with the new little Scor-Pal thingy- that's the first time I played with it!
Butterflies in the Chocolate paper were colored with a B21 Copic, and one was cut out for the sentiment layer. Spring Rain Twill ribbon finishes it off!
So, when I see my own cards, and knowing that I have to conserve $ and layers and embellies, my cards have much more of a flat look to them than others- what's up with that?? Eye of the beholder? Not enough color variation? It's true when I sit down I can't afford time wise to spend too much time per card, so maybe that's it? Maybe the photographs just make them look much more one dimensional than they really are!

So cute!
You don't give yourself enough credit. Your card is super! I love the combination of blue and brown and it's such a nice layout.
Your cards are always so cute and pretty. I love visiting your blog to see what you've made. And they go to such a dear event in life. Don't worry that they look flat...I never even thought about that when I see them.
Beth, your card is so sweet! Love that you made butterflies flit on a boys' baby card! The embossing on the side is the perfect subtle trim! :>
Very cute! I gotta get that baby set. I don't think your cards look flat -- I prefer the clean and simple look without lots of embellishments. Plus it makes it easier to mail the card. : )
Oh this is SO CUTE!! Love the colors and the paper piecing looks great!
This is adorable - I love the chocolate butterfly onesie! Your card is simple, but striking - and it doesn't LOOK simple. It doesn't need lots of embellies to make it say WOW - don't be so hard on yourself :-)
WOW, beautiful card. Loved it.
No way your card looks flat! It is just beautiful, Beth!!
WOW! This is great! I love the paper piecing of the onsie--I would not have chosen that design but I love it! And the use of text is great too--like the sent. stamped over it.
What an adorable baby card. Super fun and fresh use of text.
It's a good life!
